Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports as young as fourteen years old. Along with BJJ She also took classes in boxing, wrestling, and kickboxing. When she was 18, Ladd made her first appearance as an amateur in WCFC. Ladd was on a stunning 3-fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat. She won the TKO round at the end of the second. Her dominance continued and she won a much more convincing victory during her next fight against Tonya Evinger, at UFC 229 Ladd defeated Evinger within the first few seconds and received a bonus for her performance on the evening. Ladd fought in her debut big fight in her debut fight at the UFC Fight Night dos Anjos Vs. Lee rematch against Sijara Ebanks. Ladd took home the unanimous decision after some great exchanges between the two fighters was awarded an award of Fight of the Night bonuses. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie defeated Ladd in just 16 seconds which ended her winning streak. Yana Knitskaya was defeated in the 3rd round at UFC 7 on ESPN. She fought Norma Dumont as a substitute for her fight last time with the UFC at UFC Fight Night 195. It was a unanimous decision in her favor.
